RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Spokane, WA

SCOPE: Site Planning, Inclusive Playground Design, Signage, Low-Voltage Lighting, Rooftop Patio, Fencing, Landscape, and Irrigation.

DESCRIPTION: Ronald McDonald House holds a special place in the heart of Joshua Tripp, Landscape Architect. Over a decade ago, Josh was part of a volunteer team that built the “Garden of Hope”, located on the original campus. Today, PLACE LA is proud to be a part of the design team providing comprehensive landscape architecture services for the campus expansion that will double its family capacity. The landscape focuses on drought tolerant landscape, low-maintenance, and other sustainable practices. Highlights of the campus include dynamic inclusive playgrounds which utilize synthetic lawn, shade structures, and site amenities. Atop the parking garage, a rooftop terrace incorporates container planters, paver design, and artistic screens created from perforated metal.
